CHAPTER PREVIEW
When I reflect on my life, I can say unequivocally it has been an amazing journey thus far. What looms in my mind as I begin to tell my story, is something I would say to the children as they grew older. Two of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime, number one is the God you serve, and number two is the person you marry. I am a living testimony to that statement.
Chapter one: The Beginning Years
In 1973 I decided to go into business. I was young and had inherited the entrepreneurial spirit from my mother. I opened a new and used furniture shop,' Pine Trading Post, in a quaint neighborhood in West Philadelphia, better known as West Philly. About a year or so in business I realized the need for a partner, when I needed to leave and make purchases, I had to put the "return soon" on the door which wasn't good for business. So, I posted a sign in the shop, "Help Wanted" and one fine day in walked my help.
I had no way of knowing at that young tender age of twenty-three that the response my sign would be the beginning of what turned out to be a twenty- two year marriage, close friendship that culminated into us creating ten children, five sons and five daughters, the Amenra family.
